All of the Stainless Flatware patterns listed on this page
are either 18/8 or 18/10. 18/8 has approximately* 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
18/10 has approximately 18% chromium and 10% nickel. The differences between
these alloys is very small and both 18/8 and 18/10 are considered ideal alloys
fro stainless flatware.
*The variance of 18/8 is 18 to 20% Chromium and 8 to 10% nickel.
Similar variations are found in the 18/10 alloys. So the true
difference between these alloys is negligible. Both are excellent for stainless
flatware. Other characteristics such as pattern, weight finishing qualities
should be given more consideration in your choice of flatware than which of
these two alloys is used.
